Introducing the NADOHE Communication Guide

As the preeminent voice for senior diversity officers, NADOHE is pleased to provide the NADOHE Communication Guide. This guide is intended to be a valuable tool for Senior Diversity Officers, Academic Diversity Officers, institutional leaders, diversity professionals and others in- and outside higher education in responding to the challenges to college and university diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts, especially as a new academic year begins. This resource is the result of the perspectives and thoughts offered by many participants of NADOHE's 2023 Annual Conference, Special Session. Thank you to everyone who contributed their ideas, expertise, and time to develop this important guide.

There is a great deal of confusion, mischaracterization, and disinformation that seeks to invalidate the work of NADOHE members. This communication guide equips campus leaders with standard messaging, talking points, and other resources to debunk these myths and accurately share information on the vital role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, and the vital role Senior Diversity Officers and diversity professionals play in leading and influencing change on campuses.

While this guide provides standard information, we encourage members to expand this messaging and tailor it with data and information from their own institutions.
